About the role

Working closely with our Sales and Marketing function, the purpose of this role is to develop, lead and ultimately help grow new business through strategic partnerships and channels across the UK.  Balancing opportunities against potential business risk, you’ll be an expert in identifying sound and profitable pathways for successful growth.  The role holder will already be an experienced business manager or have demonstrable experience in strategic risk-based decision making against a backdrop of credit control.

As a practiced people manager, you will understand how to drive and motivate people to achieve tangible business results, whilst recognising opportunities to evolve and develop them into a world class team.  Working in collaboration with other key business areas you will be a strong and compelling influencer, practiced in delivering influential, high-level analysis and strategic brokering with a firm understanding of business risk and mitigation

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifying profitable pathways in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing teams 
  • Delivering within the business risk framework, understanding the parameters of plan.com’s risk appetite with regard to each case and collaborating with the business to either mitigate or accept risk. 
  • To deliver to challenging business deadlines and metrics. 
  • Maintain collaborative relationships across the business to leverage the best possible business outcomes
  • Leading a team to successfully deliver in a fast paced and challenging environment.  Recognising talent within the team providing opportunities, support and development opportunities.  
  • Live the corporate values in delivering your role; creating a team environment that reflects the corporate values enabling each and every one to flourish
  • Providing a knowledgeable and determined approach capable of supporting team development both in terms of technical, market intelligence and personal approaches to the job.

Skill & Experience

  • Experience of credit environment
  • Experience of brokering corporate level strategic arrangements
  • Demonstrable business acumen supported by a thorough understanding of finance
  • Experience of people management
  • Experience of leading a corporate function
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of business
  • Engaging, driven personality capable of motivating/influencing all levels of contact.  
  • Good educational background with a minimum of 5 iGCSE (grade 4 or above/grade C or above
  • Professional Accreditation (ACA, ACCA or other equivalent numerate body)
