Business Analyst
Location: Isle of Man
Reports to: Head of New Product Development

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must have an agile approach to creating development requirements and designs. Your focus must be on increasing quality, productivity, reliability, time to market, and improved stakeholder engagement and satisfaction. The Business Analyst will report to the Head of New Product Development with the mission to deliver an extensive roadmap of new features, feature improvements, new products, and bug fixes relating to our technology platforms and applications. 

Your deliverables as a Business Analyst will include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Support the Product Owner with identifying, interpreting and investigating any problems or opportunities within the current business model, processes and software solutions
  • Support the Product Owner with identifying and investigating new ideas, opportunities, and products
  • Analyse new development requirements and translate them into functional specifications for the product development team
  • Act as a customer proxy for the development team during the development cycles
  • Outline user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team and testing
  • Become very familiar with the business’s platforms, products, and applications 
  • Assist in the creation and review of business requirements and design (including mock-ups)
  • Assists in identifying and documenting issues, and recommending resolutions
  • Collaborates with team members to create detailed functional and/or technical specifications
  • Establish effective working relationships within stakeholders and the project team 
  • Timely and effectively communication within project to manage risk and escalations
  • Attend retrospectives to provide feedback and improve the development process 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in business analysis, business, finance, Capital Markets or Computer Science 
  • Business analysis experience in software development, mobile applications, data, cloud services or agile projects, preferably in technology or telecoms industries
  • Strong organizational skills, autonomous, self-motivated, curious and open-minded 
  • Experience with Agile Scrum development methodology and corresponding concepts related to user stories, acceptance criteria
  • Technical, analytical, and development skills including the ability to provide solutions to a variety of business problems
  • Ability to translate business requirements to functional specifications 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • English (fluent written and oral) and ability to work in an international environment
